I am a believer in the saying "taxation is theft." The Government forcibly takes money you earned out of your check every month and once a year you have to politely ask for it back or you're in trouble. Not everyone gets money back. Some people have to pay more at that time.
After the government steals your money they spend it irresponsibly. When they are done spending your money they begin to rack up a debt. They then raise taxes demanding you pay them more money to pay for their mishandling of your hard earned cash.
The people in office are not there to represent you. They are in it for their own interests. They don't care about the cost on the people. They only want to spend more of your money.
I am a gun owner and enthusiast. I could talk for days about guns. I carry a Springfield XD 40 (I realize I may have lost the vote of the Glock fans with this one). I usually open carry, but I do conceal when the situation calls for it. The second amendment is important in my family. I will fight to expand gun rights in the state of Oklahoma.
We have a right given to us by God to defend ourselves and those around us. The method of our defense should not be regulated by the government. I support constitution carry of all weapons.
The government creates laws they say are there to protect us. This is a blatant lie. They write laws to protect private industry. They make it harder for new businesses to start. They write laws to eliminate competition for larger companies. This isn't capitalism. This is crony-capitalism and that closely resembles a fascist economic form.
I fully support state question 788. Medical marijuana has it's uses. There have been many credible studies that prove marijuana is safer than pharmaceuticals. Marijuana has little to no side affects. Likewise, there has never been a marijuana overdose in recorded history.
Marijuana is safer to use than alcohol, yet alcohol is still legal. Take this statistic into account straight from the CDC,
Furthermore, a study published in November of 2014 suggests that states with medical marijuana legal have seen a decrease in opioid overdose mortality rates. The study says, "States with medical cannabis laws had a 24.8% lower mean annual opioid overdose mortality rate compared with states without medical cannabis laws. Examination of the association between medical cannabis laws and opioid analgesic overdose mortality in each year after implementation of the law showed that such laws were associated with a lower rate of overdose mortality that generally strengthened over time.
Hemp is a close relative of marijuana, however it does not create a high. It has many industrial uses. Hemp can be used to make a variety of things including rope, clothing, paper, building materials, plastics, etc. Hemp has the potential to be the best crop Oklahoma has to offer. It could be our state's saving grace.
Right now it is illegal to grow hemp in the state of Oklahoma. This plant is harmless. It is easy to grow and can provide a sustainable and renewable source for many industrial products. This crop will also help farmers generate more income.
I support the school choice movement. Parents should have a choice as to how their children are taught. Parental involvement is important to the growth of a child. In our current education system, parents are discouraged from getting involved. If we are to ensure a better future for tomorrow's leaders, things need to change quickly.
Many studies show that students learn using different methods for each student. There should be a choice of standards and methods for each student. Parents should have the ability to tailor an education to the needs of their child. I am not suggesting more state involvement. I want the parents to be more involved in shaping the future leaders of the great state.
